Kawalan plot

Tomas, mayor of Kawalan, learns that his village will soon become the site of a military base for the invading Japanese. He asks the villagers to build a hidden fortress in the forest where they can continue their lives away from the war. The pacifist knows from experience the impact of violence on people and wants to protect his people from the suffering of war.
