Jiseul plot
"1948, One Island, One Giant Grave."
Set in 1948 during the Jeju massacre in Korea, the film tells the true story of some 120 villagers who hide in a cave for 60 days from a group of soldiers who have 'shoot to kill' orders. They suffer from the extreme cold and hunger, but maintain their sanity by making jokes and holding on to the hope that the wait is almost over. Eventually, their stamina begins to wane and fear increases.
