Jacktown plot

Teenager Frances 'Frankie' Stossel is caught with a 15-year-old girl and he is convicted. He is serving his sentence in South Michigan Prison. Frankie is cared for there by a friendly prison guard, whose beloved garden he gets to tend. Their friendship ends when Margaret, the jailer's daughter, falls in love with young Frankie.
