Jimmy Weston has left the Navy and wants to become a boxer. Jimmy tells his girlfriend Sally Rivers that he has made a deal with war veteran Charles 'Tug' Martin, who is now the manager of a boxing gym. Jimmy is quite successful with his boxing career. However, Tug turns out to be corrupt and he wants Jimmy to take part in betting on the match result. Jimmy, however, does not want to cooperate. Not long after, Johnny Hart, an opponent of Jimmy, has died and since then his boxing career has gone downhill fast. Jimmy's devoted friend Sally, however, goes to investigate Hart's death. Is he indeed dead?
