Il Vecchio Testamento plot

The Jews suffer under the yoke of the Syrian rulers. Rebellious Judas the Maccabee returns to Jerusalem to start a revolution before the new governor, named Appollonio, arrives. His father, the high priest, and his peace-loving brother (Brad Harris) convince him not to shed innocent blood. Yet it all goes wrong when the new ruler commits a gross sacrilege in the eyes of the Jews, by placing an image of his god Jove in their Holy Temple.
