Il Testimone plot
An alleged murderer is about to be sentenced to death, following evidence from a witness who is first convinced he is right. But afterwards the man starts to have doubts and withdraw his accusations. The accused is released, but despite living with the woman he loves, he is not happy. His conscience is playing tricks on him and he becomes more and more obsessed with the thought that his life is in the hands of that witness, who could always go back on his decision. In the end he decides to kill the man...
