Idiot plot
"A major work of Dostoyevsky..."
The shabby, epileptic Prince Myshkin returns to St. Petersburg in 1860, after a stay in a Swiss sanatorium. He limits his activities to his aristocratic family circle and their trivial problems. But then he falls in love with Natassia, who shares the same feelings, but is also loved by Rogogine, a classic villain. Given the Prince's ill-health and his inexplicable self-destructive love for Natassia, his future looks bleak.
