"A Man Gambles With Life Itself For the Sake of His Child."
Despite losing everything they had at the roulette table, Phillip Eden and his young daughter Alice live a life full of joy and wonder, free from the oppressive Florence, Phillip's estranged wife and Alice's mother. That life is now threatened by Bernice, a rejected mistress of Phillip's, who informs him that she has reported his whereabouts to Florence. Phillip locks Bernice in his apartment, after which he and Alice flee to Italy. Will he succeed in keeping Alice out of his wife's dominating clutches?
