Three stories set in a big city, in which the thin dividing line between melancholy and depression indicates that the alienation of modern, socialist man need not only be a social problem, but is nevertheless a poetic aestheticization of urban thinking and behaviour. The self-destructive features that are displayed are therefore not just a defense mechanism, but more of a lifestyle.
