Gospel Hill plot
The film is set in a small southern town where local civil rights leader Paul Malcom was murdered years ago. After his father's death, John Malcom has isolated himself and turned against the movement. Meanwhile, his wife Sarah has continued to fight for justice against the local doctor who spearheads a movement against African American residents. Jack Herrod, the man who was sheriff at the time of the murder, and his two sons Joel and Carl also still live in the town. When young teacher Rosie comes to live in town, she not only begins a relationship with Joel but also supports Sarah Malcom in her struggle.
