Genji Monogatari plot
Genji, the Emperor's son, has earned a reputation among the Kyoto nobility for his charm and good looks. However, he can't stop himself from pursuing that one forbidden object of pleasure: his father's young and beautiful bride. Following the tragic consequences of his obsession, Genji wanders from one affair to the next. Based on the classic early 11th century novella by Murasaki Shikibu.
