Gadjo Dilo plot
Stephane arrives in Romania on a cold winter evening from Paris. He is looking for the meaning of the gypsy song 'Nora Luca', which just won't let him go. His quest leads him to Valachie, the heart of Romania, the land of a murdered people: the Lautaris, 'musicians and gypsies'. The old Izodar, bulibasha head of the clan taking Stephane under his wing, helps Stephane navigate his way through this chaotic and violent world. Even though Stephane remains the 'crazy stranger' from Paris, slowly but surely he manages to find a place with the gypsies of Valachie. However, he does not lose sight of his original goal....
