In 1933, a young woman leaves her rural home to pursue her dream of becoming a writer in the city. She takes a job as a maid for the middle-aged owner of a printing house, who quickly becomes romantically involved with her. They marry, but his passionate declarations of love quickly grow cold. As political tensions in the country rise, their love story unfolds in a divided society, revealing toxic behavior and power games that begin innocently but lead to dire consequences.
