Ed McBain's 87th Precinct: Ice plot

During the intermission of a performance, dancer Sally is shot dead and shortly afterwards the body of pimp and dealer Paco is also found. The two victims were killed with the same weapon, and agents Carella and Meyer discover that they once had a relationship. When Sally's friend turns out to have a watertight alibi, the investigation stalls until a diamond dealer is murdered.
