Bonnie Wheeler receives a strange call from Joan, her husband Rod's ex-wife, warning that she and her 6-year-old daughter Amanda are in danger. When Bonnie goes to Joan's house, she finds herself dead. Bonnie must now take in Rod's troubled children. The police investigate the case and meanwhile Bonnie's criminal brother Nick shows up again. Bonnie doesn't feel safe and starts her own investigation...
