Die Todesautomatik plot
Construction of the Berlin Wall began in 1961. The following night, Lutz (Stephan Kampwirth) and his friends smear the infamous secession with anti-Communist slogans. In a show trial, he and Manfred (Misel Maticevic) are sentenced to life imprisonment. Thirteen years later, Lutz is ransomed by the Federal Republic and goes to work in a shipyard in Hamburg. He meets Manfred again, who deals with refugees. He persuades Lutz to disassemble a death machine. It is a self-shooting automatic rifle, made to kill refugees who want to cross the GDR border.
