Diamant plot

Diamant tells how the elderly diamond cutter Mozes almost goes mad after losing a wallet containing packs of diamonds. In his despair, he is comforted by his loving wife. The only person in the family who knows anything about the lost wallet is Marie, the foster daughter who - accidentally - is in love with her foster brother. Marie knows that her real father, a usually drunk farmer, has stolen the diamonds. With her foster family, Marie goes to her father's house in the countryside. They arrive just as the drunken thief is about to burn himself alive with the precious stones.
