Desperate Characters plot

Sophie and Otto Bentwood are a married couple in trouble. Sophie ends up in social anxiety and her Otto is obsessed with his work and looks down on her. Their friends seem to ignore Sophie and no one lets her speak. The two try in vain to resolve the tensions with visits to old friends and a picnic.
