"Nobody ever spells out how to grow up."
Monica Chowdry is a former champion of the Scripps Spelling Bee in Greensburg, Pennsylvania. According to her family and friends, she should have done big things as an adult. Instead, she's rather aimless and spends her days coaching kids in the art of participating in those spelling contests. Monica's brother Sonny returns home to care for their ailing widowed mother Jaya. Brother and sister are not in the best relationship and he has some significant mental health issues that make this situation worse.
