Darkness before Dawn plot

As a child, Mary Ann was often beaten and abused by her father for his vicious spiritual games, but at first glance there seems to be nothing wrong with her. She is a caring single mother who works as a nurse. However, the memories she carries with her begin to manifest and Mary Ann resorts to drugs that she can easily get through the hospital pharmacy. Her situation becomes even more complicated when she starts a relationship with the attractive Guy Grand, a heroin addict in rehab. Guy believes that Mary Ann can inspire him to stay off drugs. How can he suspect that her problems run as deep as his?
