Dark before Dawn plot

Roger Crandall, a member of a commission of inquiry into agricultural projects, is mysteriously killed. There are indications who may have committed the murder, but there is no real evidence. Jessica Stanton picks up where her fiancé Roger left it and comes across strange practices from Kansas's largest agricultural developer. Together with Jeff Parker, ex-Vietnam veteran and now a farmer, she fights against the agricultural developer.
