Comment Lui Dire plot

Gérard and Marie-Claude have been married for twenty years. Marie-Claude was raised by Gisèle, Gérard's mother, and sees her as her own mother. Every year the couple stays with Gisèle for the holidays. This year, however, is different, Gérard and Marie-Claude are about to get a divorce. How are they supposed to tell Gisèle, who is struggling with heart problems, that the two she loves most are breaking up. They don't want to take the risk that this will be fatal for her and therefore decide not to say anything and pretend they are still happy together. Gisèle is eighty years old, but immediately realizes what is going on. She is doing her utmost to bring 'her children' back together.
