Chieko-sho plot

Kotaro Takamura (Tetsurô Tanba) is one of the most famous artists in Japan. Takamura, poet and sculptor, is married to Chieko, who also has artistic desires herself. However, she becomes increasingly aware that she cannot match her husband's work, and sinks deeper and deeper into depression. Takamura tries to help her by dedicating several poems to her. Chieko goes insane, while Takamura turns his despair into some of his greatest artistic achievements.
