Chemmeen plot

Chembankunju is a prosperous fisherman thanks to the financial support of Pareekutty, a Muslim merchant and the lover of Chembankunju's daughter Karuthamma. Traditions prevent Karuthamma from marrying Pareekutty because she is betrothed to Palani, a stranger, who now arrives in the village. Karuthamma and Pareekutty want to talk to him, but Palani refuses and insists on his marriage to Karuthamma.
