"Soon after Hope Howard is mysteriously fired, her former boss, a desperate scientist, discovers she holds the secret to his fatal illness-but she has disappeared."

Hope Howard gave up everything for her career, only to be betrayed by her boss, Dr. David Jakes, and fired for no apparent reason. After recovering from the shock, she returns to her hometown to get her life back on track and reconnect with her best friend from high school. Shortly after her departure, David, a desperate scientist, discovers that Hope might be able to cure his terminal illness, but she has vanished.
