Captain Jack plot

Marine Jack Lanniman (Bob Hoskins) wants to follow in the footsteps of his great hero. This hero, Captain Scoresby, sailed from Withby Bay to the Arctic in 1791. Jack feels that the captain is not honored enough in his hometown. He manages to get his own crew to repeat the trip with him. This only has to be done on Jack's own boat, which is unfortunately not very seaworthy.
