Britter Bairey plot
A political fable about Haripada, a Hindu with an adopted Muslim son, Moqbul. Haripada is a musician from a small rural village in northern Bangladesh, who has never been to a big city. One day he is interviewed by a journalist from Dhaka about his music. When the interview is published, the journalist returns to his village to invite Haripada to come to Dhaka, the capital of the country of more than twelve million inhabitants. Almost immediately upon arrival, Haripada is absorbed by the market economy of the great Dhaka, and he and his adopted son are swept up in commerce.
