Black Ox plot

In the Meiji period, in 19th century Japan. During the transition from life in the mountains to life on the farm, a farmer one day comes across a black ox. Somehow he manages to lead the reluctant animal back home and begins to live with it. The ox becomes his companion in a life of seasons in an attempt to reconnect with nature.
