British Bedelia seems to be living happily in Monte Carlo with her current husband Charlie Carrington. But the so-called young artist Ben Chaney begins to rummage through Bedelia's past with growing curiosity. Chaney actually turns out to be a private detective. He finds out that Bedelia's obsession with money has made her poison wives in the past and then collect the insurance money.
