"Beware of the dog who thinks."
Florence presents her mother with a bull terrier named Baxter. Although her mother is quite afraid of Baxter, she still wants to keep him. But Baxter has his own ideas - he wants to be dominated, he seeks challenges - and so he is not happy with his dull life. To get rid of the old lady, he causes an accident. This works, and he ends up with the neighbours, a young couple. Baxter is happy, until it turns out that the couple is having a baby and he must take action again.
