An Alien Enemy plot
After Emil Koenig, a Prussian officer, kills Neysa Meyer's American parents, she is adopted by Adolph Schmidt and given the surname 'von Igel'. Growing up ignorant of her past, she is recruited during World War I to operate as a German spy. She hates her job and falls for the American David Hale. She marries him and then only gives Koenig false information. Yet her behavior leads to suspicions in her husband and he leaves her. On his deathbed, Adolph Schmidt tells her that Koenig is the man who killed her parents.
