Amnestia plot
Wrocław, 1947. Young Ryszard is a former soldier of the Home Army. He constantly considers returning to the forest where he came from. He does not accept the new reality that presents itself, but does not actively resist it. He is friends with Julek, a former soldier of the Kościuszko division. However, they often have disputes because of their different attitudes to life. However, when Julek leaves for the Bieszczady Mountains to avenge the death of his parents, Ryszard realizes that Julek may be the only true friend in his life. During one of the operations against the still active underground movement, Ryszard meets Teodor, a fellow partisan. Teodor is hit by a bullet and Ryszard blames himself for this and leaves the militia. He meets the older Karolina, and through her he gets a job at a factory as a driver for director Morawski. Ryszard soon becomes the lover of Żula, his employer's wife. Then he meets Blanka, with whom he enters into a relationship. Blanka leaves unexpectedly and turns out to have her own war experiences, which explain some things. After Ryszard believes he has seen Teodor and after the news of Julek's death, he decides to take advantage of an amnesty scheme.
