Alternative 3 plot

The world ecology is collapsing; the next ice age has already begun! Fortunately for humanity, the governments know what to do. Problem is, there's a conspiracy going on that leaves all the other conspiracies behind. Scientists disappear, obscure space missions take place, and a strange "accident" kills the courier of a tape containing a secret radio message from an unmanned Mars probe. Relentless investigative reporters manage to uncover an ominous plan.
