Agogo Èèwò plot

The death of Lagatha, the soldier who once violently took over the Jogbo throne (see Saworoide), sparks a nervous search for a credible Onijogbo (Jogbo King). All hopes are pinned on the very young Arese. If elected, he can bring back the golden age of Jogbo. However, some firmly entrenched old powers in Jogbo thwart the election and put Adebosipo on the throne. They expect that this retired police officer will not stand in the way of their scrappy exploitation of Jogbo's resources. But Adebosipo chooses to serve the people and refuses to plunder the treasury. A confrontation with the powerful chiefs is inevitable. They are determined to overthrow Adebosipo from the throne.
