Afterpiece plot

Owen is a playwright, actor, and director who is at an impasse. He is listless, indifferent, and creatively exhausted, letting his life slip away, while his wife Tracy has had enough. When his producer reminds him that he is contractually obligated to deliver a new play, Owen decides to give the theater one last chance with a piece based on his own romantic and professional experiences. Owen's influential ex-lover Melinda, who has an extensive network, wants the female lead.
