Abschied von Agnes plot

A scientist from East Berlin who has become misanthropic entrusts everything he experiences, feels and thinks to his diary. His outpourings are centered on Agnes (Corinna Harfouch), who is none other than his beloved mother. He records his experiences on an old tape recorder. He lives in a dilapidated building. When the wall between the west and east has fallen, a certain Stefan (Sylvester Groth), many years younger, seeks shelter with him.
