Zwischen Anden und Amazonien plot

On the occasion of the World Cup in Brazil, ZDF journalist Marietta Slomka travels to South America together with authors Kirsten Hoehne and Jens Nicolai. Several South American countries are experiencing a real boom thanks to their wealth of ores and raw materials. A significant middle class has emerged in many of these states. The continent is evolving at a rapid pace. On her journey from the Caribbean Sea via the Andes Mountains to the Amazon Basin and on to Patagonia, Marietta Slomka encounters people who confront major economic, social and political issues. These countries are clearly leaving the colonial era behind.
