Zai Yi Qi plot
There is a lot of ignorance in China about HIV and AIDS. Many people associate the disease AIDS and the virus HIV with immoral behaviour, and they are hardly talked about. For fear of stigma, many AIDS patients in China decide to hide their illness. Chinese director Gu Changwei is filming a banned book about discriminated patients, 'Life Is a Miracle'. For the supporting roles in this film, director Gu Changwei wants to cast actual patients. Zhao Liang comes into contact with patients who want to participate in 'Life Is a Miracle' through special 'support groups'. Liang also visits a 'Red Ribbon' school, where children with AIDS are taught. A portrait about people who see themselves united and branded under one name: that of an AIDS patient.
