Where Are We Headed? plot
In Moscow, everything and everyone comes together in the underground corridors of the metro. An accordionist dressed as Santa Claus talks to a troubled passenger about Dostoevsky, the universe and the Russian soul; partygoers sing to the new year with full gusto; a giant balloon salesman tries in vain to sell his wares. Against the background music of squeaking and creaking train sounds, the spectator is a voyeuristic witness to everything that happens here – from details such as a flashing lamp or a sleeping child to a spontaneous dance with the street musician or a flared political discussion.
