Werden Sie Deutscher plot
Documentary about the modern 'Deutschwerdung' (becoming a German). Director Britt Beyer takes the viewer to an integration course in a Berlin community college. There she follows the students of a DAF class (German for non-native speakers) for ten months, from the first lesson, up to and including the final inspection, during which the coveted 'German Certificate' must be obtained. They get 600 hours of German language and 45 hours of orientation course to find their way around Germany as adults. They come from 15 different countries and the goal is not only to learn the German language, but also the mentality.
