Wakers plot

As party leader of the Party for Culture, Martijn van Hese has appointed a number of official night mayors in cities in Overijssel in recent years. Together they organized the last night mayor's congress, a recurring event where all night mayors of the Netherlands meet. This is the starting point in this documentary. In one night we travel with Van Hese through the middle, east and north of our country to see how the night mayor is doing. And that turns out to mean more than the unpaid office of the first night mayor Jules Deelder.
