Voyage au Congo plot

In 1925, aspiring filmmaker Marc Allégret accompanied André Gide on a trip to French Equatorial Africa as his secretary. Allégret filmed their 11-month journey with the aim of immersing viewers in the atmosphere of this mysterious country for Western audiences at the time. Aspects of the life, culture and settlements of various groups in the region are shown, including those of the Baya, Sara and Fula peoples.
