Visões do Império plot

Photography was crucial to colonialism, not only in Belgium, but also in Portugal. Without this medium, the idealization and 'knowledge' of the colonies would have been different. It fed the imagination that made colonial oppression acceptable and reduced the colonized to 'the other'.
