Upon the Shadow plot

In 2013, then 18-year-old Amina Sboui posted a photo of herself on Facebook, with the words "My body is mine and is not the source of other people's honor" on her bare torso. It was the first FEMEN protest in Tunisia. Her arrest and detention sparked worldwide protests online and offline, successfully demanding her release. A few years later, Amina is still as combative, but now she has gained a 'family'. Upon the Shadow records the events in and around the house she shares with a group of gay and transsexual friends. Being rejected by family and society, and the pain it causes, run like a thread through their lives.
