Union Town plot
Every day, some 2.4 million packages and 300,000 meals are delivered to homes in New York City. To most recipients, the many delivery drivers and warehouse workers remain an anonymous mass. Severely underpaid and without employee protection, they do their work in sweltering delivery vans, in warehouses filled with particulate matter, or on bicycles through a snowstorm. In 'union city,' the workers take on seemingly unbeatable companies like Amazon, UPS, and Grubhub—and are actually achieving success. Can humanity and solidarity offer a counterpoint to ruthless profit margins?
