Tweeling plot

Hiyap and Evenezer were born on a rickety boat on the waves of the Mediterranean and grew up in Europe. Filmed over the course of seven years, Gemini is a surprising and disturbing coming-of-age series about two dynamic boys with the same DNA and their determined Eritrean mother. How do they find their way in the world? And what do we see in the mirror they hold up to us?

Documentary with a high white savior content that is also superficial and uninteresting. That the twins were born at sea is an interesting fact, but so little is explored. It is unclear whether she has a status in Germany, why the family reunification does not work. She wants to go to Norway or America, but what does she end up doing? Nothing is clear and it never will be. And if, according to the voice-over, there is apparently a happy ending to the story, you hear disturbing news about child protection less than a minute later and that's it, I have to make do with that as a viewer. Why, child protection? What's the charge? A really weird ending.
