Tulip Time plot
"The rise and fall of the Trio Lescano"
Alexandra, Judith and Ketty Leschan, three Jewish sisters from the Netherlands, were incredibly popular in fascist Italy in the 1930s and 1940s as Trio Lescano. Their catchy and close harmony swing music was the European answer to the American Andrew Sisters. The outbreak of the war put an end to their career. In their documentary 'Tulip Time', filmmakers Marco de Stefanis and Tonino Boniotti shed light on this almost forgotten piece of history through eyewitnesses, photos, letters, film images and music.
