To Be Heard plot

Teens Anthony, Karina and Pearl grow up in the Bronx, a place where opportunities are endless and children grow up quickly. Anthony puts it beautifully: "What should you do if you get your three-day beard after just one day?" Karina is the oldest of six children. Children that she largely has to take care of. And now her mother is pregnant again. Pearl has a list of things she is proud of and things that work against her at home. She feels daily the fear of not making it in life. Since taking part in an intense poetry course led by some passionate teachers, they have discovered that they have something very special: a talent for words.
