The Way We Wait plot
Shortly after moving into her 22nd home, Ji-Yoon Park receives a call that her grandmother is far away in the hospital, in critical condition. Too late, the director realizes that she should have bonded with her grandmother earlier. Time is chasing her, says this restless young woman. She runs faster and faster so as not to be swallowed up by time. Parallel to the images from the hospital, an apartment building of sand is sculpted somewhere on the coast, in vain, against the inevitable decay. The flood is approaching and is slowly nibbling away pieces of the foundation. This house built on sand mirrors the images from the hospital.
