The Shadow Scholars plot

The Shadow Scholars follows Patricia Kingori, the youngest black female professor in the 925-year history of Oxford University. When she hears about a global network in which highly educated Kenyans write the essays of Western undergraduates and PhD candidates, she heads to Nairobi to find these academic writers behind the scenes. An estimated fifty thousand Kenyans are part of this army of 'shadow scholars', who are hired online to write theses and dissertations.
